Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai married his partner, Borka Buzsik, this week, with the pair sharing snaps on social media. They made their relationship public last summer, around the time Szoboszlai captained Hungary at the European Championship in Germany.
Taking to Instagram, the 24-year-old Reds ace shared a photo of himself and his now-wife sharing a kiss. It had the caption: ‘2025.03.25’, Tuesday’s date, and a red heart. He had proposed in Budapest in October.
Szoboszlai signed for Liverpool from the German side RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023, coming in alongside Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo to revamp the midfield department under Jurgen Klopp. He has since firmly established himself in the team, now under the guidance of Arne Slot.
His salary at Liverpool is thought to be around $155K per week, according to the website Capology. He is tied down until the summer of 2028.
Szoboszlai’s wife, Borka, obtained a degree in Business Administration and Management in 2022 from Corvinus University of Budapest and now has a successful career. As well as being an influencer, she is a specialist in marketing and public relations.
She has collaborated with major brands such as Calzedonia and H&M and works at the Hungarian company Toman, which promotes a healthy diet and lifestyle, according to Tribuna.
Szoboszlai, whose Hungary team was knocked out of the UEFA Nations League after being heavily beaten 6-1 on aggregate by Turkey during the international break, has scored five goals and provided four assists so far this season at club level. He is expected to be in the starting XI when Liverpool returns to action against Everton next midweek.
“It’s different,” Szoboszlai told the Reds’ official website last month when he was asked how things have changed this season under Slot. “Last year I was playing as an eight and I think more as a defensive part of the game than offensively. This time I am a little bit more offensively than defensively and I’m still doing the work for the defense part.
“He [Slot] changed my game a lot and I improved I think a lot under him because he was going in on a certain point that I was never thinking about to be improved. I still can improve for sure and I’m working on it every day.”
