TBR Football can exclusively confirm Liam Delap’s transfer stance amid interest from the likes of Newcastle United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and other Premier League giants.
Strikers are set to be in demand this summer, with the Magpies, the Blues, the Gunners and the Red Devils all keen on bringing in more firepower.
Callum Wilson’s Newcastle contract expires this summer, so the Magpies are likely to be looking for a replacement.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United have all had issues in attack this season and, as such, are likely to look for reinforcements.
Delap is likely to be in demand in wake of his heroics for Ipswich Town and, even if they get relegated, he’s not likely to stay down with them.
Liam Delap believes he can make an impact at any Premier League club
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Newcastle are ready to compete for Delap this summer.
Newcastle are doing work on new forwards as they ideally look to bring in a right sided forward and a central striker.
The club insist they want to keep Alexander Isak, but one player who is leaving is Callum Wilson and they are working hard on options.
Newcastle sources have confirmed to TBR Football that Delap is someone that they have done a lot of work on and they are ready to compete for his signature.
We can also reveal that Delap himself is open to moving to Tyneside this summer.
Indeed, Delap is open to join any Premier League club – he believes in his own talent and can make an impact at whichever club.
With that in mind, Newcastle know that Delap is a man-in demand and it will not be an easy deal to complete.
Chelsea are huge admirers of Delap and did talk about a potential deal in January and they remain hugely keen.
Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham have all had talks with the player’s camp – they all like how confident he is.
TBR Football previously revealed that Ipswich want around £40million for Delap, with Man City owning a 20 percent sell-on clause on the striker.
The similarities between Liam Delap and Harry Kane
BBC Sport pundit and former England international Theo Walcott recently compared Delap to Tottenham legend Harry Kane.

“Liam Delap I believe he’s an old-school number nine, a bit similar to Harry Kane,” he said.
“He always is a threat in behind, he causes defenders all sorts of problems, he likes to work hard and gets a lot of goals.
“Put him in a team, no disrespect to Ipswich, but put him in a team that provides a lot more chances, he’s going to have a very, very successful career.”
Alan Shearer has also tipped Delap for a bright future, even suggesting he could one day become Kane’s successor for the Three Lions.
“I think Liam Delap will be one that we’ll see in the squad – it’ll be different between now and 18 months time,” he said on The Rest is Football after he and Gary Lineker were asked who’s next after Kane.
“I think, without a doubt, he’ll be one that – if he stays away from injury and if his career keeps going on the way that he’s going at the minute, he’s in a really struggling side at Ipswich- but he’s one of the standouts in their team
“I think he’ll be one, without a doubt, for the future – I’m confident in saying that.”
