We’re headed towards the business end of the season, and attention is already starting to turn towards the summer transfer window.
Indeed, a few transfer dominoes are already starting to fall.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for Real Madrid, while Martin Zubimendi is set for a move to Arsenal this summer.
Liverpool and Arsenal are both set for busy summer windows, and both teams are looking at the same player – Alexander Isak.
Isak has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal, and according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on Market Madness, both clubs will indeed make a move for Isak this summer.
Liverpool and Arsenal will make Alexander Isak moves
Romano shared what he knows about Isak and the clubs interested in him.
The journalist says that both Arsenal and Liverpool will make proposals to sign Isak this summer, but whether or not these deals get over the line remains to be seen.
“So I don’t think this contrast story will really change his performances. He’s going to do his best for Newcastle till the end. But then we have to see what happens when Arsenal and Liverpool, because I expect these two clubs to arrive with important proposals in the summer,” Romano said.
“And at that stage, we have to see what the player decides to do and also what kind of conversation he will have with Newcastle. But on club side, they keep saying that they will try till the end to extend this contract, to keep the player and to make the face of their project also for the future. So I think it’s going to be a big fight in the summer for this fantastic striker.”
Arsenal and Liverpool’s previous transfer battles
Romano says that Arsenal and Liverpool will go head-to-head as they try to sign Alexander Isak, and it will be interesting to see how this turns out.
Indeed, Arsenal and Liverpool have locked horns in the transfer market before, and history shows that this could go either way.
Isak is more likely to join Liverpool according to some, but Arsenal have beat Liverpool to some big signings in the past, and vice versa.
Mamadou Sakho could’ve joined Arsenal at one point, but he chose Liverpool instead, while Arsenal look to have beaten Liverpool to Martin Zubimendi.
Meanwhile, Liverpool wanted Sol Campbell, but the defender decided to join Arsenal instead all those years ago too.
These two clubs have a history of battling both on and off the pitch, and it looks as though another transfer war could be about to unfold this summer over Isak.
