Club soccer is back this weekend but, sadly, Liverpool is not in action. It’s the FA Cup quarter-finals over the coming days, something that doesn’t concern the Reds.
It’s not until next week that Liverpool plays next, with a meeting against Everton. That means Arne Slot won’t speak to the media until Tuesday. Invariably, he’ll be asked about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s situation amid the deluge of reports emerging that the right-back is set to join Real Madrid when his contract expires.
In the meantime, the Reds have reportedly begun talks with Jeremie Frimpong over a possible move to Anfield as Alexander-Arnold’s replacement. The Reds do hold a genuine interest in the player, who has also attracted interest from elsewhere.
There have also been fresh transfer updates on the futures of Milos Kerkez, Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, along with news on Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah.
