Good ol’ Sven is back.
It seems that Sven Ulreich has been at Bayern Munich forever, but it has been less than a decade now. Before joining Bayern in 2015, he was regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Bundesliga and nearly stopped Bayern from winning the treble in 2013 as his side VfB Stuttgart narrowly lost 3-2 to Bayern in the DFB-Pokal final. However, he has since served as Neuer’s deputy for nine years now, briefly moving on to Hamburger SV before returning to Munich.
According to reporter Hanna Raif, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, Ulreich will extend his stay at Bayern to an entire decade:
Sven Ulreich is set to sign a new deal at FC Bayern, keeping him at the club as #3 next season. It’s not been signed yet, but everything’s ready.
He already has been demoted from from his long held position as Neuer’s deputy, losing the role to newcomer Jonas Urbig, but it seems fitting that Ulreich will stay a 10th year at Bayern.
