Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly prepared to consider offers for defender Cristian Romero during the summer transfer window.
Whilst a handful of his teammates have spent the international period recovering, the 26-year-old has played two matches for Argentina in World Cup qualifying.
Romero’s performances over recent years have supposedly captured the attention of European champions Real Madrid, who are targeting centre-back reinforcements.
The World Cup winner has endured an injury-riddled campaign in North London this term, limiting him to just 14 appearances in the Premier League.
The latest of those features arrived across the English capital at Fulham on March 16, when Ange Postecoglou‘s men suffered another sobering defeat.

Tottenham refuse to rule out sale of Romero?
According to Give Me Sport, Tottenham have altered their stance regarding the future of highly-rated defender Romero heading towards the summer transfer window.
The report claims that Spurs have failed to rule out the possibility of waving goodbye to the services of the 26-year-old before the start of the new campaign.
It is understood that Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have joined their city rivals in the hunt of Romero, who signed for £42m from Atalanta BC during the summer of 2022.
With the centre-back’s contract in North London expiring in 2027, Spurs have come to terms with the fact that this summer could represent the final opportunity to earn a significant amount from the player’s sale.
It is believed that Tottenham are looking to pocket in the region of £45m for Romero, who has never played for a Spanish side in his professional career to date.

Tottenham preparing for the future
Due to the injury woes of Romero and Micky van de Ven, Tottenham deployed Archie Gray and Ben Davies as their centre-back pairing during the festive period.
The Lilywhites were in desperate need of defensive reinforcements, with Kevin Danso arriving from French outfit Lens on an initial loan deal.
Spurs have an obligation to sign the 26-year-old for £20m during the summer, when Postecoglou could be preparing for life without vice-captain Romero.
