Speaking on the Ranks FC Podcast, Dean Jones has been discussing some of the potential moves at Arsenal this summer, and he said that it’s not implausible to believe that Gabriel Martinelli could leave Arsenal if the right offer came in.

Gabriel Martinelli could leave Arsenal

Jones claimed that either Gabriel Martinelli or Leandro Trossard will likely leave Arsenal this summer.

The journalist says that Trossard is much more likely to depart than Martinelli, but it’s not impossible to suggest that the Brazilian will be on his way.

Indeed, according to Jones, if a high enough offer came in for Martinelli, he could indeed leave Arsenal.

“Martinelli or Trossard are likely to leave the club in the summer. Like there are briefings that they’re open to selling one of those players. I’d be somewhat surprised if it was Martinelli, but it’s not implausible that he would go if they got a high enough offer,” Jones said.

“And I can kind of see why, because I don’t think Martinelli is ever going to reach like Saka levels. I think that’s what you have to get to. If you look at what Liverpool have managed, they’ve obviously got like Salah is like their Saka and he’s just like consistent and brilliant.”

Gabriel Martinelli compared to potential replacements

Martinelli could leave Arsenal this summer if the right offer comes in, and Arsenal have been linked with a few potential replacements.

Indeed, Arsenal have looked at the left wing market in recent times, and some exciting options have been linked.

Rafael Leao has been linked to Arsenal, while Nico Williams is an Arsenal target too.

Alex Baena has also been linked to Arsenal.

When you look at the statistics, it’s easy to see why Arsenal may be considering moving on from Martinelli and going for one of these alternatives.

Arsenal need to try something different next season after three years of falling short, and maybe a change down the left wing could be a catalyst for more success.
