Liverpool have a few big decisions to make ahead of the summer transfer window.
The headlines have been dominated by Trent Alexander-Arnold’s imminent move to Real Madrid, while the futures of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk remain up in the air.
To make things worse, Ibrahima Konate’s contract situation hasn’t been sorted out yet either, and that could complicate things even more for the Reds.
Now, there could be a potential disagreement within the club between Arne Slot and the Liverpool board that’s headed by FSG.
Arne Slot and Liverpool’s board disagree over Luis Diaz’s future
Luis Diaz will enter the final two years of his contract this summer.
The Colombian’s future has often been up in the air over the last few months. Barcelona have shown interest in Diaz, and they are still rumoured to be keen.
TBR Football exclusively revealed in February that Diaz has informed Liverpool that he is ready to sign a new contract at Anfield.
However, there was no progress on that front. Now, Diaz is open to joining Barcelona if Liverpool don’t offer him a new deal.
The reason for the delay could be because of a disagreement behind the scenes.
CaughtOffside have claimed that Slot has already given the green light for Diaz to be sold this summer, but Liverpool’s board want to keep the Colombia international.
The report adds that the decision-makers at Anfield ‘are determined not to let Diaz go’ in the upcoming window.

Liverpool spent £37.5 million to sign Diaz and agreed to a further £12.5 million in potential add-ons.
The Colombian has shown flashes of his magic at Anfield – Gary Neville even branded Diaz as ‘brilliant’ following his performance against Tottenham in Liverpool’s 6-3 win.
But, at 28 years of age, Diaz isn’t going to get a lot better than he has been, and his numbers this season compared to last show that.

With the prospect of Salah leaving in front of Liverpool, the Reds will need to bring in a wide player who will produce huge numbers like the Egyptian.
Diaz is just not capable of that, and that is probably why Slot is ready to move him on.
However, if FSG and the members of the board really want to keep hold of him, Slot will have to include him in his plans and bring the best out of him.
