With the international break now done and dusted, Eredivisie action resumes this weekend, starting with NAC Breda taking on Groningen at Rat Verlegh Stadion on Saturday afternoon.

A victory for the hosts will see them move up three places in the league standings to ninth, while three points for the visitors will take them into the top eight above Fortuna Sittard.

We say: NAC Breda 1-1 Groningen

While Groningen won the reverse fixture comfortably on the opening weekend of the season, NAC Breda have been a tough side to overcome on their home patch this term and are unbeaten in their last three home games against this opponent.

This should be a much closer match than the last one, and we feel that there will be nothing to split these two at the final whistle.

Fortuna Sittard will be hoping to return to winning ways in the Eredivisie this weekend when they take on Sparta Rotterdam at Fortuna Sittard Stadion on Saturday afternoon.

Three points for the hosts will allow them to remain in the top eight in the league standings, while a win for the visitors will see them pull four points clear of the bottom three.

We say: Fortuna Sittard 1-1 Sparta Rotterdam

While the hosts have had a better season to this point, the visitors were enjoying a solid run of results ahead of the international break and are unbeaten in their last five matches against this opponent.

The reverse fixture between these sides ended in a 1-1 draw back in September last year, and we feel that they will end up sharing the spoils in this one as well.

Saturday afternoon in the Eredivisie brings us a crucial match in the relegation scrap, with Willem II playing host to Almere City at Koning Willem II Stadion.

The hosts are currently sat in the sole relegation playoff spot with 24 points, while the visitors are at the bottom of the league standings with 15 points after 26 games.

We say: Willem II 1-1 Almere City

While both these sides were in poor form leading up to the international break, Almere City have seen an improvement in results since the arrival of Jeroen Rijsdijk, and we feel they will be able to come away from this match with at least a point.

Europe-chasing NEC aim for back-to-back Eredivisie wins for the first time since January when they host Champions League hopefuls AZ Alkmaar in Saturday’s gameweek 27 fixture at Goffertstadion.

Rogier Meijer’s men secured a 1-0 victory at Utrecht before the March international break, snapping a six-match winless streak, and they hope to build on that success by defeating the sixth-placed visitors.

We say: NEC 1-1 AZ Alkmaar

NEC have scored in every home fixture this season, and that trend is expected to continue against AZ on Saturday.

However, a team with only one Eredivisie victory in seven at home facing an opponent with one away win in five suggests that the points could be shared in a score draw.

Aiming to snap a six-match winless sequence in the Eredivisie, PEC Zwolle host second-bottom RKC Waalwijk in Saturday’s gameweek 27 contest at MAC³PARK Stadion.

The away side, who could slide to the bottom of the standings, enter this weekend’s game on a three-match losing streak, highlighting both teams’ poor form heading into their encounter.

We say: PEC Zwolle 2-1 RKC Waalwijk

Although six of the previous eight Eredivisie encounters have ended in draws and Zwolle remain winless against Waalwijk at home since 2019, another draw should ideally be predicted.

However, Jansen’s men will go into Saturday’s game knowing their visitors have conceded two goals or more in nine of 12 away games this season and will back themselves to secure a narrow victory with both teams scoring.
