The wait is almost over for Liverpool to get back to action, and after a hectic week off the pitch, there might not be many happier with that than Arne Slot.
The Reds resume their Premier League title charge when they host Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday, when they’ll be hoping to put those Carabao Cup and Champions League defeats firmly behind them by taking a big step toward becoming champions.
Not only that, but it will be an opportunity to take some of the attention away from matters off the field, which have dominated the headlines over the last week or so.
It seems inevitable now that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be heading to Real Madrid in the summer, although Mohamed Salah’s cryptic Instagram post does raise plenty of questions.
The Egyptian if of course in the same boat as his teammate in being out of contract at the end of the season, along with Virgil van Dijk. Will they be following Alexander-Arnold out of the exit door?
