Chelsea are considering a move in the summer for AC Milan forward Rafael Leao and are already aware of how much they would need to offer to start talks.
The Blues are keen to sign another forward in the summer despite Enzo Maresca’s squad already being well stocked with attackers.
Last month, TBR Football revealed that Chelsea had asked for information on Leao, which came during talks to send Joao Felix on loan to the San Siro.
Now, the West London club are deciding whether to return for the 25-year-old in the summer and already knows how much they may need to pay for discussions to start.
Chelsea already knows how much Rafael Leao could cost
Chelsea knows that they would need to offer at least £84 million to start talks with AC Milan to sign Rafael Leao, according to CalcioMercato.
The Blues have been ‘evaluating for months’ the possibility of making an offer for the winger and could now use their Jorge Mendes connections to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are aware that to enter talks, they would need to pay at least £84m with his current release clause standing at around £125m.
Even Saudi Arabian clubs couldn’t afford to pay such a fee, therefore, if Milan are hoping to cash in on Leao, who’s also been linked with Arsenal, they will need to reduce their asking price.
But the West London club are now considered ‘the most important threat’ in the race for Leao and a summer move now looks on the cards.
Rafael Leao set to be dropped by AC Milan vs Napoli
Leao is set to be dropped to the bench by AC Milan for their clash against Napoli, with the Portugese international having been training with the reserves, as per Gazetta Dello Sport.
Sergio Conceicao looks set to select Chelsea loanee Joao Felix ahead of him for the trip to Naples.
Leao has already been benched on ten occasions this season, which Gazetta Dello Sport claims “for a player with his talent, it is incredible.”
