Alphonso Davies will miss the rest of the season for Bayern Munich…

Cooler heads have prevailed.

Of course, there has been quite a bit of back-and-forth among Canada Soccer, Bayern Munich, and Nedal Huoseh, the agent for Alphonso Davies, following the left-back’s season ending injury sustained during Canada’s game against the USMNT.

Earlier in the week, Huoseh was irate with how Davies’ situation played out, but he has walked back the anger with a statement on X:

Over the past 24 hours, I spoke with Jesse Marsch on several occasions. I have a lot of respect for him as a coach. We had positive and productive discussions and laid down the ground work to ensure we are all aligned and working together, to continue to protect the best interests of players. Moving forward everyone involved is focused on prioritizing Phonzie’s recovery.

The more we learn about the situation, the more it seems like Davies might have just had horrible luck in how everything transpired from the actual injury to his physical reaction to how he was assessed.

Surely, some things could have been done better, but it does appear that some of the affected parties are starting to put the focus on Davies’ recovery rather than how he got hurt and what ensued afterward.

Looking for more thoughts and discussions on Bayern Munich’s plan to work around the injuries to Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano, and Manuel Neuer? What about a thorough run through of the latest transfer rumors including Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade, Chelsea FC’s Christopher Nkunku, Southampton’s Tyler Dibling, RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, and Mainz 05’s Jonathan Burkardt?
