Myles Lewis-Skelly enjoyed a memorable week away from Arsenal during the international break.
The Arsenal No.49 scored on his England debut as the Three Lions recorded a 2-0 win over Albania, racing onto a pass from Jude Bellingham before cooly slotting home at Wembley.
It was the perfect way for the Hale End graduate to introduce himself to Thomas Tuchel.
Now – ahead of the Premier League clash between Arsenal and Fulham on Tuesday evening – Mikel Arteta has been speaking about Myles Lewis-Skelly.

The Spaniard has now expressed his delight at seeing the 18-year-old make a name for himself on the international scene.
Arteta told the BBC: “It was a great moment for Myles. We are all so happy for him. It is unusual to see something like that, when you debut at full-back and then go on to score in the manner he did for his country. It is a special week for him.”

It certainly was “unusual” to see a teenage left-back, who typically inverts into the centre, charging down the left flank to finish with the composure of a veteran striker, but that just serves to emphasise the vast array of skills Lewis-Skelly has in his locker.
The England international has now matched his tally for Arsenal, with that goal coming in the resounding 5-1 win over Manchester City in February.
Clearly, Lewis-Skelly, who has shocked Ray Parlour, is a man for the big occasion.
Arsenal close to rewarding Myles Lewis-Skelly
The man from Denmark Hill’s efforts have not gone unnoticed at the Emirates Stadium.
TBR Football understand Arsenal are close to finalising a new contract for Lewis-Skelly in recognition of his meteoric rise this season, which will include improved pay.
The teenager is currently still on the £4,000-a-week contract he signed in 2024 when penning his first professional deal with Arsenal, and richly deserves a new deal after rapidly developing into an England international.
