He has not even competed a full year at Stuttgart. This is not the time to rush his development.

VfB Stuttgart’s Nick Woltemade has been the talk of Germany for months now. Initially signed as a depth option at striker and stuck behind big money signings El Bilal Touré, Emerdin Demirovic and Deniz Undav, the free transfer has somehow come in and displaced them all. The 6’6” striker combines his size with the dribbling skills of a winger in a combo that is very rare in football. It is this unique combination of strengths-as well as perhaps his German passport- that see Bayern Munich rumored to be after Werder Bremen youth product.

But there is nothing concrete to any possible move yet. Florian Plettenberg reports, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, that any possible move to Bayern is still very far away:

Nick Woltemade is aware of Bayern’s interest and believes he’s ready for a big step – but the topic is not concrete at the moment, there’s no contact. Woltemade is fully focused on Stuttgart.

This is just Woltemade’s second year in the Bundesliga, and he was hardly a regular starter for Werder Bremen last year, either. Really, this is his breakthrough season, one that only really started towards the end of 2024. Making a big step might be too soon.
