Harry Kane looks to have ruled out a return to the Premier League this summer, having found himself being linked with a shock transfer to Liverpool recently.

Although the Reds are on course to win the Premier League title, with 12 points separating them from Arsenal heading into the final nine games of the campaign, it has become clear in recent weeks that Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes will have plenty of work to do in the summer transfer window.

Among Liverpool’s priorities will be a new No.9. Darwin Nunez looks a good bet to be moving on after three seasons, while Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have both struggled for form of late, with Slot needing an upgrade through the center to complement Mohamed Salah.

Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez have both been touted as potential options, with Liverpool having shown an interest for the latter last summer when he was in the process of leaving Manchester City.

Kane’s name has also surprisingly featured in the past week or so, with suggestions that the England captain might be eyeing up a return to the Premier League. Not only that, but Liverpool has been claimed to be the favorite for his signature.

While it’s a transfer that seems highly unlikely, it is one that has received backing from some pundits. Kane though has now addressed those rumors, and he doesn’t look to be planning on a move away from Bayern Munich anytime soon.

“[There are] a few random stories out there for sure, yeah,” he said when asked about recent rumors by ESPN. “I don’t know where they come from, but for sure I’m happy here at Bayern Munich.”

Kane is under contract at the Allianz Arena until 2027, with some suggestions that he may have a release clause in his deal which may facilitate a return to the Premier League at some point. Asked whether he would like to head back to England one day though, the 31-year-old didn’t seem to have given the idea much thought.

“I’m not sure. I’ve said throughout my whole career, I’m not someone who likes to think too far ahead,” Kane said. “I’m extremely happy here. I think we have a fantastic team, fantastic coaching staff.

“Whilst I feel like I’m in the best condition I want to play at the highest level possible and this is as high as it gets.

“I know a lot can change in football in a short space of time and things can happen, but ultimately my focus is here. I’m not thinking about any other league or any other team.

“With football, I like to just go with the flow and at the moment the flow is here at Bayern Munich.”

Liverpool.com says: Kane to Liverpool just always felt like a non-starter, didn’t it? Considering his age and the money he’s on at Bayern, nothing about those transfer rumors added up apart from the Reds needing a new striker, so perhaps this is one that can be put to bed for good now.
