This clash with the Toffees marks the Reds’ first top-flight match since March 8, as they inch closer to clinching their 20th English top-flight title. Arne Slot’s men currently sit comfortably at the top of the Premier League table, a whopping 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal.

With just nine games left to play this season, starting with the showdown against Everton on Wednesday, Liverpool is in pole position. Throughout the season, The Reds have been touted as strong favorites to lift the league title, thanks to their commanding lead.

Now, a new prediction has surfaced, assessing the Reds’ chances of winning the league and their projected final points tally. Opta Analyst has done the maths and predict that Liverpool will pip Arsenal to the Premier League title.

They forecast that the Reds will finish with an impressive 89 (88.94) points after 38 matches and have a staggering 98.75 percent chance of being crowned Premier League champions. On the other hand, Arsenal are predicted to finish with 77 (76.58) points – a significant 12 points behind Liverpool.

The Gunners have been given a slim 1.25 per cent chance of leapfrogging the Reds to win the league title, with no other club in contention, according to the same prediction. “Everybody can understand the position we are in,” Slot told reporters on Tuesday. “We are so looking forward to these nine games. Our players are refreshed.”

On Liverpool’s recent defeats to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League and Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final, Slot added: “That was the first time we deserved to lose a game. There were not many things to like from the final. All of them played important international games. Like me, they were disappointed for us not winning our first trophy and being out of Europe. In the final, we were outworked. That’s not what I like.”

Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, currently third and fourth respectively, are tipped to secure the remaining top-four spots, thus qualifying for the Champions League.

If England is granted a fifth spot in the UEFA coefficients, Newcastle would also earn a place in next season’s prestigious European tournament. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the table, Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich Town are predicted to face the drop to the Championship, despite all three teams having been promoted just last season.
