Arsenal kept the Premier League title race alive with their win over Fulham on Tuesday night, but it came at a cost.
After just 15 minutes played at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
Gabriel went down clutching his hamstring, forcing Mikel Arteta to replace him with Jakub Kiwior, and the Brazilian headed straight down the tunnel.
Jurrien Timber was also spotted struggling with an issue just half an hour into the game as he appeared in discomfort after trying to block a Raul Jimenez effort.
The Netherlands international was initially able to continue but he made way late on in the game, with Leandro Trossard brought on to replace him.
After the game, Arteta was asked what they knew about the severity of the injuries to Gabriel and Timber, and whether he was concerned about the Brazilian.
Mikel Arteta concerned about Gabriel Magalhaes as he confirms Jurrien Timber suffered knee issue
Arteta admitted that he didn’t know how Gabriel and Timber are going to be, though he admitted that Timber was struggling early on due to a knee issue.
Arteta said, as per James Benge’s X account: “We don’t know how they are going to be. We will be assessing them tomorrow.
Arteta added: “Two players in this team who never want to come off are those two.
“Jurrien was struggling very early in the game, he managed to continue and at some point he couldn’t. Jurrien was his knee.”
When asked whether he was concerned about Gabriel, he said, as per the Premier League website: “Yes, because he never comes off.
“He felt something. We don’t know how big it is. We will assess him before the next games.”
