Indeed, the Gunners look set to fall just short in the title race for the third straight season, and Mikel Arteta’s side need to add to their squad to make sure they get over the line next year.

Arsenal may well be set for a big summer.

Martin Zubimendi is a target for Arsenal, while Nico Williams is set to sign for Arsenal according to some.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also need a new striker, and a number of options have been linked.

Arsenal have needed a striker for a while, but for the last few transfer windows, the Gunners have continuously put this signing off.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Arsenal are guaranteed to finally sign a new striker this summer.

Arsenal are guaranteed to sign a striker

Romano says that he’s sure Arsenal will sign a striker in the summer.

The journalist re-iterated the idea that Alexander Isak is Arsenal’s dream target, while he said that a new striker will be arriving at the Emirates this summer.

“Yeah, Arsenal will obviously bring in a striker. That’s absolutely guaranteed and obvious. And Alexander Isak remains the dream target.

“The dream target already in January, already one year ago, Mikel Arteta considers Alexander Isak the perfect striker for his idea of football and for Arsenal. But then we have to respect Newcastle. What we mentioned in the last year here on the podcast is that Newcastle must be respected because they’re doing very well.

“They just won a trophy. They want to bring important players in the summer. They want to build something important for the future.

“And so to keep Alexander Isak is absolutely crucial for Newcastle. So they keep insisting at the club that Isak is not available this summer. So my expectation is for Arsenal to try and also for Liverpool to be in the race for Alexander Isak.”

Arsenal’s title-winning transfer windows

Arsenal have been here before, just one transfer window away from becoming the Premier League champions.

Indeed, under Arsene Wenger, Arsenal won three Premier League titles, and in each of those seasons, Arsenal made some transformative signings.

Arsenal title-winning seasons Key signings
1997/98 Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit
2001/02 Sol Campbell, Kolo Toure, Giovanni van Bronckhorst
2003/04 Jens Lehmann, Jose Antonio Reyes

Emmanuel Petit and Marc Overmars were incredible acquisitions back in 1997 as Arsenal prepared to win the Premier League for the first time.

Meanwhile, Sol Campbell may well be the biggest statement signing in Premier League history heading into the 2001/02 season.

As for The Invincibles, Jens Lehmann was the backbone of that team, while Jose Antonio Reyes was a smart January signing amid an injury crisis that threatened to cause problems that season.

Arsenal need a big summer transfer window if they’re to win the Premier League, and a new striker may provide the platform to do just that.
