Liverpool and Arsenal have both been credited with an interest in Wolfsburg striker Mohamed El Amine Amoura, with both keen to strengthen in attack.
The Reds emerged as 1-0 victors against Everton on Wednesday night at Anfield thanks to a winner from Diogo Jota, while the Gunners managed to defeat Fulham 2-1 on Tuesday.
With both sides winning in matchweek 30, Arsenal remain 12 points behind first-placed Liverpool, and it is difficult to see that gap shrinking given there are just eight games left to play.
L’Equipe now claim that Arne Slot and Mikel Arteta may be set to engage in a battle off the pitch as they report that enquiries have been made for Wolfsburg striker Amoura, who is said to be available for a fee of roughly £29m to £33m.

Amoura in profile
Amoura has scored 10 goals in the Bundesliga this season and provided eight assists, making him the club’s leading player in both categories.
The 24-year-old also ranks first at Wolfsburg for progressive carries (68), first for passes into the penalty area (22) and second for key passes (29).
Wolfsburg have often relied on counter-attacks to create scoring opportunities, and the Algerian attacker’s pace has proven useful, with his top speed of 35.58 km/h making him the league’s 20th fastest player.

The importance of signing a striker
While the points gap between Liverpool and Arsenal might indicate that there is a significant gulf in quality between the teams, that gap could shrink considerably depending on if the Gunners can sign the right player to lead their forward line.
Kai Havertz has often been criticised for his performances up front, and it is not surprising that the likes of Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres have been linked with a move to the Emirates.
As for Liverpool, though Jota managed to secure all three points for the Merseysiders against Everton, his displays this season have been underwhelming.
Considering Darwin Nunez has also disappointed, it seems likely that Slot will look to make an addition in attack to try and help Mohamed Salah.
Whether Amoura can help either side improve in 2025-26 remains to be seen, but it is imperative that both clubs act in the upcoming transfer market.
