Marcus Rashford told his Man Utd career is OVER and he can’t return to the club

The Manchester United forward was loaned to Aston Villa during the winter transfer window and has since performed well.

Marcus Rashford has been told that his career at Manchester United is over despite his performances improving in recent weeks.

Rashford, 27, was loaned from Man United to Aston Villa during the winter transfer window, having fallen out of favour with United head coach Ruben Amorim.

The forward has since seen an improvement in his form, so much so that he was selected by England head coach Thomas Tuchel for his first two games in charge of the Three Lions in March.

In his ten appearances for Unai Emery’s side, Rashford has registered four assists and two goals with both strikes coming against Preston North End during last weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final at Deepdale.

And given his history at United, most Red Devils fans will likely be pleased with Rashford’s resurgence at Villa.

But not everyone thinks a return to Old Trafford would be a good move.

Former Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder Emmanuel Petit has claimed that Rashford should stay away from his parent club this summer.

“He made the move in January and was back in the England squad,” said Petit when speaking to the Daily Star on behalf of Pokafirma.com.

“It looks like he made the right decision for his own career in terms of leaving United.

“Should he go back to Manchester United in the summer? I don’t think so. Rashford needs to concentrate on getting his fitness and his game back.

“That’s his number one priority between now and the summer.

“He shouldn’t be thinking about where he will be playing next season, he should be thinking, ‘I’ve been given a chance to rehabilitate myself, playing under a top manager at a top club, playing Champions League football, I need to use this opportunity to get my passion back and show the world I’m a top player.’

“At Manchester United, he disappeared for a couple of years.

“The most important thing for him is to come back to the right level. And then after that, maybe he can think about something else, but put those thoughts on ice right now.”

Rashford’s future remains uncertain with the Mail reporting that the 27-year-old, who is contracted to United until the summer of 2028, could join Villa – or another club – for a fee of around £40m this summer.
