Arsenal have a new sporting director in charge, with Andrea Berta taking the reins earlier this week.
Berta’s arrival at the Emirates Stadium has led to Arsenal fans expressing optimism in terms of what they can do in the summer transfer window.
With the Gunners likely to fall short in their pursuit of the Premier League title, they are likely to make a number of signings, with a new forward a priority.
Matheus Cunha has long been on Arsenal’s radar and a new report has emerged regarding the Gunners’ status in his pursuit.
In addition, said report has also shared how much Wolverhampton Wanderers are apparently willing to sell Cunha for in the summer.

Wolves willing to sell Arsenal target Matheus Cunha for just below £63m
Berta’s Arsenal arrival has seen the club take the lead in the race for Cunha, according to CaughtOffside.
Berta knows Cunha from their time together at Atletico Madrid, and he’s said to be a big fan of what the forward can offer in attack.
In addition, Wolves are reportedly resigned to losing Cunha this summer and are planning their transfer strategy around the assumption they’ll sell him and raise funds.
In terms of Cunha’s price tag, he has a €75million (£63million) release clause but Wolves are reportedly willing to accept offers slightly below that amount.
Arsenal are apparently in internal discussions over making an offer that will satisfy Wolves’ valuation for the ‘extraordinary’ Cunha without breaking their own budget.
Arne Slot’s Matheus Cunha seal of approval
Cunha has made a name for himself as one of the best players outside of the Premier League’s conventional ‘Big Six’.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently said Cunha is good enough to play for any of the Premier League’s top five clubs.
“He’s a type of player that I’m referring to when I always say when I compare the leagues that I’ve worked in and this league,” Slot told reporters in February.
“I don’t know exactly where Wolves is at the moment – 17th?
“If you go to the Dutch league and you look at the number 17, there’s no player that can play for Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord.
“But Matheus Cunha is a quality player and he has the quality to play for one of the top five teams in England.
“That is also one of the reasons why it is so much more difficult to win a game against the number 17 in England than to win against the number 17 in Holland.
“Again, we already saw when we played against them with Gary O’Neil they had a very good performance back then as well – he [Cunha] in particular.”
