…Sure. Why not?

It seems that Bayern Munich’s scouting department is undergoing changes. German newspaper Bild reports, as captured by @iMiaSanMia, that the new head of the department is leaving his mark:

Nils Schmadtke, Bayern’s new head of scouting, has made changes in the department. In addition to personnel changes, the main focus will now be on live scouting. Potential candidates will not only be watched in the videos like in the past, but above all in person in the stadium.

Ultimately, it is really hard for outside observers like us to really evaluate these changes. As long as the club is scouting players that are good enough for the club (it seems as if they are), then there really is nothing to critique scouts for because we know squat about just about anything they do. It is interesting that Bayern wants to scout in person more. That seems like it would require more manpower. But outside of that…business as usual.
