The Manchester United loanee scored his first two goals for the Villans on Sunday to knock Preston out of the FA Cup and send Aston Villa into the last four – where Crystal Palace await at Wembley.

Previously, the England international had impressed regardless with four assists in nine games, but the goals are now flowing after he netted his first in the Premier League for Aston Villa during the 3-0 win at Brighton on Wednesday.

After Marcus Rashford broke his Premier League duck for Aston Villa – his tenth in all competitions this season – Emiliano Martinez sent him a message on Instagram.

Emiliano Martinez calls Marcus Rashford a “baller”

The Argentina international has clearly been left impressed by what the 27-year-old has brought to Villa Park.

Martinez called Rashford – who Arsenal looked at – a “baller” on Instagram after the win at Brighton, adding a fire emoji too, while Youri Tielemans also congratulated the Aston Villa No.9 through the language of emojis.

Furthermore, Kalvin Phillips sent the Manchester United loanee a trio of heart emojis.

Aston Villa must be tempted by £40m agreement with Manchester United

In case you missed it, Aston Villa agreed a £40m option to buy Rashford – who could soon make history – on a permanent basis from Manchester United this summer during talks in the winter transfer window.

At the time, that seemed like a lot for the Villans to potentially spend on an uninspired forward who Ruben Amorim was regularly overlooking at Old Trafford, a gamble in every sense of the word.

However, like Antony at Real Betis, Rashford has strongly suggested Manchester United are the problem, not him, with his outstanding displays under Unai Emery.

If he maintains this fine run of form, that £40m option may well appear to be a bargain by the time the summer transfer window arrives.
