Manchester United are having a terrible season, but their one shining light has been Bruno Fernandes.
Indeed, Fernandes has been brilliant for United this season, and, with all due respect, when one player is shining for a bottom-half team, they’re bound to be linked with a move.
Eberechi Eze is being linked with a move away from Crystal Palace, and big clubs are circling Matheus Cunha at Wolves.
United have been in a similar sort of situation to Palace and Wolves this season, and, therefore, there has been some talk about Fernandes leaving Old Trafford.
Fernandes was linked with Real Madrid this week, but according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on the Stretford Post YouTube channel, there isn’t anything to these links.

What Real Madrid are saying about Bruno Fernandes
Jacobs shared what he’s heard about Bruno Fernandes and his links to Real Madrid.
The journalist says that he’s been told by sources at both Madrid and Manchester United that these links are wide of the mark, claiming that Los Blancos are more likely to go for a defensive midfield addition.
“Bruno and Real Madrid, what do you think? Would Man Utd entertain an offer for Bruno?” Jacobs was asked.
“No, there’s nothing in that as far as I’m aware. That’s been downplayed by both Manchester United and Real Madrid sources,’ Jacobs said.
“We know that Real Madrid are going to bring in Trent Alexander-Arnold, they may add in a centre-back. If they were to strengthen in the centre they’d go for more a number six than a number eight. I can’t see them strengthening with the profile of someone like Bruno.”
What Bruno Fernandes said about leaving Manchester United
Real Madrid aren’t looking to sign Bruno Fernandes this summer, and even if they did want to bring the United captain to the Bernabeu, that may not be possible.
Indeed, Fernandes has made it very clear in the past that he doesn’t want to leave United and he’s fully committed to the club – as he wrote in The Players’ Tribune.
I love to step out at Old Trafford more than anything in the world. I don’t want to leave. This has always been my ultimate dream,” Fernandes wrote.
“I just want my expectations to fit with the expectations of the club. If you go talk to any fan, they will tell you the same thing. We want to compete for the league. We want to be playing Champions League football. We want to be in cup finals. That is the standard. That is what I want. That is what you all deserve.
“I just want to keep fighting. I want to be here. My family wants to be here. If you doubt that for a moment, then you just have to look at my Spotify Wrapped, and that will prove it to you”
United fans have plenty of issues they should be worried about right now, that’s for sure, but one thing the Red Devils don’t need to worry about is the potential departure of their captain this summer.
Fernandes will be staying at United by the sounds of things.
