Manchester United have reportedly joined Liverpool and Arsenal in the race for Bournemouth attacker Antoine Semenyo.

The 25-year-old has been in strong form for the Cherries during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring nine goals and registering six assists in 34 appearances in all competitions, including seven goals and five assists in the Premier League.

Semenyo has a contract at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2029, but he could be on the move during the upcoming market, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in his signature.

According to The Independent, Man United have joined Liverpool and Arsenal in pursuit of the forward, with all three Premier League clubs said to be ‘surveying’ his progress in the latter stages of this season.

A talented Bournemouth outfit are expected to lose three or four key players this summer, including Dean Huijsen and Milos Kerkez, with the defensive duo proving to be outstanding performers in 2024-25.

Meanwhile, there is also speculation surrounding head coach Andoni Iraola, who has done a hugely impressive job at the helm.

Arsenal allegedly view Nico Williams as their leading target when it comes to a wide forward this summer, but the Athletic Bilbao attacker also has interest from the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Semenyo would be cheaper in terms of wages, but Bournemouth are believed to be looking for around £50m for the forward, and it remains to be seen whether interested clubs are prepared to go near that figure.

Semenyo has scored 18 goals and registered eight assists in 81 appearances for Bournemouth since making the move to the club from Bristol City in the middle of the 2022-23 campaign.

The Cherries are believed to be relaxed when it comes to the forward’s future, especially with the club in the mix for a European finish in the Premier League table, although their hopes of a top-seven finish were damaged on Wednesday when they lost 2-1 at home to Ipswich Town.

Which club will win the race for Semenyo?

Semenyo has largely featured as a left-sided attacker for Bournemouth this season, but he has scored four times in nine appearances after starting on the right, and his versatility makes him even more attractive for interested clubs.

The Ghana international’s best work comes in a wide area, so it is difficult to imagine Man United moving for him, as Ruben Amorim‘s 3-4-3 system uses two narrow number 10s, which is one of the reasons why Alejandro Garnacho is struggling at this moment in time.

Arsenal and Liverpool do have wide spots open in their respective XIs, and it would not be a surprise to see either move for Semenyo if they are unable to land their top targets during this summer’s transfer window.

Bournemouth will not let him leave for a cut-price fee, though, and £50m might prove to be too high a price despite his undoubted talent.
