Los Blancos are currently second in the La Liga table, three points behind the leaders Barcelona, with the two teams locked in a fierce battle for the championship heading towards the final straight.

Real Madrid will enter this match off the back of a 4-4 draw with Real Sociedad, which proved to be enough for them to advance to the final of the Copa del Rey, where Barcelona will be their opponents.

While Carlo Ancelotti‘s side are chasing the title, Valencia are fighting to retain their top-flight status.

Los Che are currently 15th in the table, four points above the relegation zone, and they will bring a four-game unbeaten run into this weekend’s contest in the Spanish capital.

Here, Sports Mole looks at the head-to-head record and past meetings between Real Madrid and Valencia ahead of their contest at Bernabeu on Saturday afternoon.

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 212
Valencia wins: 58
Draws: 43
Real Madrid wins: 111

These two teams have locked horns on 212 occasions throughout history, and it is Real Madrid that lead the head-to-head record, with Los Blancos winning 111 times to Valencia’s 58, while there have also been 43 draws.

As expected, the vast majority of their contests have taken place in La Liga, with Real Madrid winning 94 of their 179 games in Spain’s top flight, suffering 47 defeats and drawing the other 38.

The last meeting between the two sides took place in January 2025, with Real Madrid recording a 2-1 victory at Mestalla courtesy of a late winner from Jude Bellingham.

Each of Real Madrid’s last six league defeats to Valencia have come at the home of the six-time La Liga champions, but they triumphed in the last meeting between the two sides at Mestalla.

That said, Valencia beat Real Madrid 4-1 when the pair locked horns at Mestalla in November 2020, and they have enjoyed some impressive results against Los Blancos on home soil in recent years.

Karim Benzema and Raul are the joint-leading goalscorers in this fixture, having netted 16 times against Valencia during their time at Real Madrid, while Cristiano Ronaldo managed 15 for Los Blancos against Los Che.

Each of the last five meetings between the two sides have come in La Liga, with Real Madrid posting three wins, suffering one defeat in the process, while Valencia’s last league success at Bernabeu came back in March 2008.
