Tottenham Hotspur’s supporters had very little to be optimistic about following their lackluster defeat to Chelsea, however, there was one player whose performance stood out.
Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 1-0 by their London rivals Chelsea as Enzo Fernandez headed home from close range to win the game.
The North London club were very poor yet again as Ange Postecoglou’s team suffered a 16th Premier League defeat of the season.
On what was yet another tough night for the Lilywhites, the fans have pinpointed the efforts of one of their key men against Chelsea.
Tottenham fans praise Lucas Bergvall’s performance vs Chelsea
Tottenham fans have been praising the efforts of Lucas Bergvall against Chelsea as the young Swede’s display made him stand out above his teammates.
Bergvall’s performances for Tottenham have been praised and the teenager looks like a player who is set to have a special career.
Barcelona were unhappy to miss out on Bergvall in January 2024 and his displays in a Spurs shirt prove exactly why the Spanish giants will be kicking themselves.
The Tottenham supporters in the away end were unhappy with Postecoglou taking Bergvall off, as the Spurs boss swapped him for Pape Matar Sarr after 64 minutes.
During the match, the Lilywhites’ supporters took to X to share their appreciation for the midfielder’s efforts on a thoroughly disappointing evening.
One fan said: “Unpopular opinion, but Bergvall is one of the players of the season for me.”
Another claimed: “Bergvall has been one of Tottenham’s best players once again which isn’t that hard when you have seen how most of the team has performed this first half.”
There was yet more praise for the youngster: “Bergvall is so clearly such a nice lad on and off the pitch, love him.”
“Bergvall is the only spurs player playing like he wants to be there,” concluded another fan.
Lucas Bergvall’s brilliant stats vs Chelsea
Bergvall, who Tottenham signed for £8.5 million, was the only player who was looking to drive the ball forward for the visitors.

The 19-year-old being taken off was a tough one to explain given his display, therefore, it’s no wonder the away end directed their anger towards the manager.
Postecoglou opted not to go over to the Tottenham fans who’d made the trip to Stamford Bridge, which will only raise further question marks over his future.
