We get it, Kimmich. We really get it.

Every Bayern Munich fan first saw their hearts jump into their mouths when Jamal Musiala was spotted sitting on the ground in the Bundesliga match against Augsburg, unable to keep playing. Their worst fears were confirmed when the German wonderkid had to hobble off the field, certainly seriously injured. And even an eventual 3-1 win was heavily clouded by the injury.

But the fans are not alone on this. The players were hit hard by the injury as well and have begun expressing frustration at the many injuries befalling Bayern players at the moment. Joshua Kimmich, captain today in the absence of Manuel Neuer, spoke after the match about the frustrating nature of these injuries.

“I saw him quickly. Generally we need to wait for the diagnosis,” he said to DAZN, via Tageszeitung. “I think an MRI will be done. After that, we will know more. It is extremely frustrating, regardless of whether Jamal or anyone else is hurt. It is certainly unbelievable how many players in the squad are hurt.”

But annoyance will not help the squad any iota, as human and understandable as it is. The team faces a brutal schedule in the coming weeks as Inter Milan loom large in the Champions League and the indefatigable Kimmich will need to step up even more than he already has to compensate for Musiala’s absence.
