Lamine Yamal has been linked with a shock move away from Barcelona.

Teenage star Lamine Yamal has been linked with a move away from Barcelona with two clubs reportedly interested.

Yamal, 17, is one of the most eye-catching players in Europe after his brilliant displays for Barcelona.

Ever since breaking through to the first team in 2023, the teenager has impressed for both club and country.

So far, the Spanish international has scored 20 goals in 92 matches across all competitions for the Catalan club.

In the 24/25 season, Yamal has managed 13 goals and 19 assists in 41 appearances.

Back in 2023, it was confirmed that Yamal had signed a new contract with the club, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026.

It was also revealed that there is a release clause, which is set at one billion euros.

However, as reported by Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, Yamal has now been linked with a move away from Barcelona due to the club’s well-documented financial situation.

It has been suggested that Barcelona are ‘are thought to be dealing with complications regarding a new deal for Yamal’.

As a result, Premier League duo Liverpool and Manchester City are said to be monitoring the situation closely.

Speaking recently about Yamal, Barcelona midfielder Pedri said: “I tell him to keep doing what he’s doing, to keep having fun. Although sometimes you have to clip his ears… but that’s okay.”

Meanwhile, former Barcelona star Luis Suarez was also full of praise for the 17-year-old, he said: “I love today’s Barcelona. The team has a dynamic, a style of football and a level of efficiency that is really impressive. There are two players who are well above average, in my opinion – Pedri and Lamine Yamal. They’re difference-makers.”

Barcelona are back in La Liga action on Saturday night when they take on Real Betis at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
