Ange Postecoglou is a man under immense pressure right now.
Indeed, Postecoglou’s job is on the line at Tottenham, and Postecoglou even turned on his own fans earlier this week.
However, in football, you can go from zero to hero in the blink of an eye, and Spurs still have a shot at glory this season in the Europa League.
Of course, after a terrible campaign to date, Spurs are far from being favourites in the Europa League, but speaking to The Sun, Tim Sherwood has backed Tottenham to win the competition.
Not only did Sherwood say that Spurs will win the Europa League, the pundit also said that a statue of Ange Postecoglou will be built outside of the stadium if Tottenham do achieve this feat.
Tim Sherwood makes Ange Postecoglou statue prediction
Sherwood spoke about Spurs’ chances in the Europa League and what that means for Ange Postecoglou.
The pundit says he thinks Spurs can win the Europa League, and he thinks that Postecoglou will go down as a club legend if they do win the trophy this season.
“I still believe, and I will say it now, they can win this Europa League, they can win it and they will go to the Champions League next season off the back of it and there will be a statue of Ange Postecoglou outside of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,” Sherwood said.
Tottenham’s route to Europa League glory
Tim Sherwood says that Spurs can win the Europa League, and Tottenham have been tipped for glory by some other pundits as well.
Spurs are in the last eight of the competition, so it’s not impossible, but Tottenham’s route to the final is far from easy.

Quarter-finals | Eintracht Frankfurt |
Semi-finals | Lazio or Bodo/Glimt |
Final | Athletic Club, Lyon, Manchester United or Rangers |
Eintracht Frankfurt are third in the Bundesliga this season, so they will be favourites to get past Spurs based on recent form, while Lazio are no mugs either in the semi-finals.
Athletic Club, Lyon, Manchester United or Rangers would await in the final, and while all four teams are contenders, there would be something ultimately poetic if Postecoglou were to meet Rangers in the Europa League final after spending perhaps the most successful portion of his career with Celtic.
