Kompany refuses to let the injury situation bring him down.
Bayern Munich’s injury list is starting to balloon. With Jamal Musiala’s injury, the number of first team players out is 7 (8 if you wish to count highly talented central defender Tarek Buchmann). As many of the players unavailable are also ones that would usually make it into the starting lineup, it cast a lot of doubt on the team’s ability to pull itself together and perform well in the remaining Champions League and Bundesliga fixtures, especially the upcoming clash against Inter Milan.
But Vincent Kompany refuses to let his thoughts be dominated by negativity. In the interview following Bayern’s 3-1 victory over FC Augsburg, Bayern’s head coach pointed out the reasons for optimism.
“Our last two games in the Champions League against Leverkusen were very good. We’ve also won our games [in the league] after the international break,” Kompany said, via @iMiaSanMia. “We’re in a good position. Despite the unavailable players, the players who will start against Inter are still Bayern Munich players full of talent. We trust them.”
Sure, it is never good to be forced into a corner and having to pick out positives. But those positives do still exist and the remaining players are very much Bayern caliber. Do not let your heads hang, Bayern fans.
