The Allianz Arena plays host to an intriguing European contest on Tuesday night, where Bayern Munich and Inter Milan battle it out in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
Vincent Kompany‘s men put five past Bayer Leverkusen on aggregate in the previous round, while the Nerazzurri also made light work of Feyenoord, triumphing 4-1 over two legs.
Either Barcelona or Borussia Dortmund will be awaiting the victor of this showdown, which has already been fought plenty of times down the years with mixed results.

When Bayern Munich and Inter Milan square off in the first leg of their 2024-25 Champions League quarter-final, the German giants and Italian powerhouses will be colliding for the 10th time across all competitions.
The Bavarians lead the way in the head-to-head column at present, clinching five wins compared to just three for the Nerazzurri, although one of Inter’s trio of wins came in their biggest battle to date.
Indeed, a Jose Mourinho-led side emerged victorious by two goals to nil in the 2009-10 Champions League final, as Diego Milito bagged the brace that propelled Inter to their third top-level European crown.
However, Inter have only managed to get the better of Bayern Munich on one occasion since then, a 3-2 last-16 second-leg win in the 2010-11 tournament, albeit one that saw them progress on away goals after a 1-0 home defeat.
Bayern avenged their 2010 and 2011 heartbreaks in the 2022-23 season, however, as they triumphed 2-0 home and away during the group stage of the competition, with Leroy Sane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and now-Inter man Benjamin Pavard finding the net.
As a result, Bayern are unbeaten against Inter when it comes to group-stage matches alone, having also conquered the Nerazzurri 2-0 away from home before a 1-1 draw in the earliest phase of the 2006-07 tournament.
Furthermore, the Bavarians eked out an away goals win when the two clubs first did battle in the 1988-89 UEFA Cup last 16, recovering from a 2-0 home loss with a 3-1 win at San Siro.
