Fresh off the back of snapping their nine-game winless run across all competitions, Gil Vicente play host to Moreirense in round 28 of the Portuguese Primeira Liga on Sunday.

Os verdes e brancos, who are unbeaten in each of their last five top-flight visits to the Estadio Cidade de Barcelos since March 2015, will look to extend this 10-year streak as they set out in search of their first away win since October.

We say: Gil Vicente 2-1 Moreirense

Buoyed by their impressive victory over Boavista, Gil Vicente will head into the weekend with sky-high confidence as they take on a Moreirense side who have struggled for consistency. The Gilistas got the better of Bacci’s men when the two sides met in the Taca de Portugal back in January, and we are backing them to come away with the desired result in front of their home supporters once again.

Looking to widen the gap to the Primeira Liga drop zone, Nacional host struggling Estrela Amadora in a round 28 clash on Sunday.

The White and Black sit five places and six points clear of the relegation playoff spot, having collected 29 points from eight wins, five draws and 14 defeats, while the visitors currently occupy that position.

We say: Nacional 2-0 Estrela Amadora

In the last four of the five meetings between these sides, only one team has found the net, and that trend is expected to persist, with Nacional likely to come out on top with their strong home form, coupled with Estrela’s ongoing struggles in front of goal, making the outcome even more likely.

In a clash that could play a decisive role in shaping the Primeira Liga‘s top four, Porto welcome Benfica for round 28 this weekend.

The second O Classico of the campaign arrives with the hosts sitting third, edging fourth-placed Braga on goal difference, while the visitors remain locked in a two-horse title race, trailing league leaders Sporting Lisbon on the same count.

We say: Porto 1-1 Benfica

With both teams having much at stake, we anticipate a closely fought contest, characterised by tactical discipline and a cautious approach.

Although Benfica have been in formidable form of late, Porto’s unbeaten record at home this season is no mere coincidence, and it is likely to play a pivotal role once again, leading us to forecast a low-scoring draw.
