Manchester City have been a dominant force in the Premier League in the last few seasons but have struggled to replicate that dominance in this season. Pep Guardiola’s side are fighting to stay in the top four spots and qualify for the Champions League next season. A number of players are expected to leave City in the summer, and the side do need reinforcements.

Manchester City Want To Spend €275 Million To Sign Lamine Yamal

Fichajes has reported that Manchester City are ready to spend a massive and record fee of €275 million to sign the 17-year-old winger Lamine Yamal from FC Barcelona. The teenager has come up through the ranks in La Masia and has been world-class right from the time he started for the senior squad.

Yamal is one of the best players in the world currently and is responsible for the success that Barcelona are enjoying this season. He has huge potential and is expected to dominate the next decade. City are of the richest clubs in the world and want to break the bank for the world-class youngster.

Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s 17-year-old prodigy, is a jaw-dropping talent. His playing style screams confidence—smooth dribbling, quick feet, and a fearless knack for taking on defenders. Operating mainly from the right wing, he cuts inside with his deadly left foot, delivering pinpoint crosses or cracking shots at goal. Yamal’s vision is unreal for his age, making passes that leave fans gasping.

Will Barca let him leave?

The Barcelona kid has scored 6 goals in 27 matches so far in the La Liga 2024/2025 season. 1 of the 6 goals were scored at home, while he scored 5 goals in away games. Overall, Yamal’s goals scored per 90 minutes is 0.24. Moreover, his total G/A (goals + assists) is 17 for this season. Yama’s goal involvement equates to 0.68 per 90 minutes, and his non-penalty xG per 90 minutes is 0.39.

Already a regular for club and country, the 17-year-old’s pace and flair make him a constant threat. He is raw but polished, having teenage exuberance with big-game composure. If he keeps this trajectory, Yamal is not just a star in the making—he is the future of football, lighting up La Masia’s legacy. Therefore, even for a huge transfer fee, Barcelona won’t be selling their youngster, who is destined to match Lionel Messi’s legacy.
