Can’t happen soon enough.

Bayern Munich is without too many of its key players lately — but at least some of them are not lost for the season.

Working his way back to full fitness is young midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović. Bayern executive board member for sport Max Eberl gave an update on the 20-year-old’s progress after the team’s latest Bundesliga game, a 3-1 win over Augsburg on Friday.

“He’s back in training and the tests are good. He hasn’t trained for 5-6 weeks and needs to be reintroduced bit by bit. I think he’ll be back in team training in the next few days,” Eberl said in remarks captured by @iMiaSanMia.

In Pavlović’s absence, Leon Goretzka has reclaimed his place in the Bayern midfield and João Palhinha is getting chances to get into his groove. However there is no question of the young Germany international’s importance to both club and country. And of course, Bayern is a team that cannot really take another injury at this point — though one could happen at any position in any game.

So really, Pavlović’s return can’t be soon enough. Here’s to a smooth recovery.
