TBR Football have now received information regarding Jamie Gittens and Chelsea after a development at Borussia Dortmund.
The England U21 international has developed into a star since swapping Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund back in 2020, even helping the German giants reach the UEFA Champions League final last term, where they ultimately lost 2-0 against Real Madrid.
Nevertheless, the Borussia Dortmund No.43 has continued his excellent form with 12 goals and four assists in 42 appearances so far this season, but his efforts are not being matched by teammates as Niko Kovac currently sees his side sitting eighth in the Bundesliga.
Amid this situation, sources have now shared information on Jamie Gittens with TBR Football – as Chelsea take centre stage.
Chelsea lead race to sign unsettled Jamie Gittens
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for TBR Football – has been told the man from Reading is now looking to leave the Signal Iduna Park this summer.
We understand Borussia Dortmund’s poor form has created doubts for Gittens, who is eager to force his way into the England setup under Thomas Tuchel, and feels a move to the Premier League would help.
As such, TBR Football have been informed Chelsea are right at the front of the queue, with the Blues keen to sign a new winger to play on the left flank.
Enzo Maresca has lost Mykhailo Mudryk – who played in that position – to a doping suspension, while Christopher Nkunku is expected to leave Chelsea.
There are also doubts over Jadon Sancho – with the England international either returning to Manchester United, or being sold by the Blues once a permanent move to Stamford Bridge is sealed.
TBR Football understand Arsenal are admirers of Gittens – who is valued at £70m – with Liverpool and Manchester City asking to be kept updated on the situation at Borussia Dortmund.
What Jude Bellingham has previously said about Jamie Gittens – amid Joe Cole comparison
Joe Cole shone for Chelsea from 2003 to 2010, making 282 appearances as he won the 2008 Player of the Year award, three Premier League titles and many other trophies.
Interestingly, if a deal for the 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund gem materialises, Chelsea could get their modern day version of the Englishman.

Karen Carney compared Gittens to Cole after watching him play against Lille in the UEFA Champions League earlier this season, saying: “He’s got the X-factor. He can do things like the guy next to me, Joe Cole, can do that other people can’t. Magic feet, quick feet, and can finish.”
Jude Bellingham is also a fan of Gittens. When discussing who should win the Golden Boy award, the Real Madrid No.5 said: “My old teammate Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund, top talent.”
