Does the ol’ fella have a string of strong performances left in the tank?

If there is one person who is not doubting that outgoing club legend Thomas Müller can make an impact at Bayern Munich against Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund this week, it is Jürgen Klinsmann.

“Yes, I really hope from the bottom of my heart that this story will happen. Because of course, when others are out due to injury and you suddenly become first choice again and not just coming off the bench, then you can still leave your mark on the game. And that’s what he does,” Klinsmann told Sky Sport. “Every time he comes on, even if it’s only for ten minutes, he leaves his mark on the game because he has this personality. He has this positive energy, he has this enormous will to turn things around. And now we have games like Inter Milan, which is essentially an early Champions League final.

“And then Dortmund this weekend, where you can’t let any feathers fall. And I really hope from the bottom of my heart that there will be a real revival of Thomas Müller in these crucial weeks, and, of course, because they are currently hosting the final in their own stadium on May 31st in Munich with the Champions League. It would, of course, be fantastic if it worked out. And if it doesn’t, it won’t hurt his crown.”

Klinsmann, of course, coached Müller during his professional debut for the club on August 15, 2008, in a 2-2 draw against Hamburger SV. Of course, as the story goes, Klinsmann left Müller a voicemail to tell him that he would be making his debut…which Müller initially missed.
