Jamie Vardy has been tipped to stay in the Premier League next season – even if Leicester suffer relegation.

The Foxes look doomed to drop back into the EFL after a 3-0 defeat against Newcastle United left them in a perilous situation.

With just seven matches remaining, Leicester are 15 points from safety having won just four times in the league all season.

As a result there could be a huge rebuild needed at the King Power Stadium with Vardy among the players likely to move on.

The 38-year-old is approaching the end of his contract at the King Power Stadium and will have a big decision to make about whether he stays or goes.

According to ex-Watford striker Troy Deeney, Vardy won’t be short of offers and could even be offered another deal in the Premier League.

Discussing the prospect of Vardy joining another top flight club, Deeney told talkSPORT Breakfast: “It’s a punt when you’re just looking at his age and depending on what his wage structure is but Jamie is in a wonderful position because there’s not many number nines in world football, never mind in the Premier League.

“I could see him doing well at Everton or West Ham.

“Jamie is one of those players and people where you hate him when you’re playing against him but if he’s on your team then you’d love him because he does all the horrible things.

“Let’s just use West Ham as a case study. They’ve got [Niclas] Fullkrug, they’re probably going to try and get another striker and so having Jamie Vardy as the third option or the second option is fantastic.

“You know that as the season goes on there’s going to be rotation and there’s going to be injuries so I think he’ll be a great option for a lot of teams.

“He’s won the Premier League, played in Europe, played for England – that’s a wonderful acquisition to add to your squad.

“For me, Jamie hasn’t showed any signs of slowing down and while he’s still got that pace I think he’s an excellent buy for anybody.”

Vardy has been with Leicester since 2012 when he joined the club for just £1million from Fleetwood Town.

Since joining the club, the striker has made 494 appearances for the club, scoring 198 times and providing 69 assists.

In that time he also helped Leicester to two EFL Championship titles, an FA Cup win and a Community Shield win.

Famously, Vardy spearheaded the Foxes to a monumental Premier League title win in 2016, scoring 24 goals in 36 matches that term.
