Unfortunately, football doesn’t always give what’s deserved.
Despite the result, Bayern Munich were arguably the better side in their Champions League quarter-final clash against Inter Milan.
The Bavarians had the lion’s share of possession and also created more scoring opportunities — clearly reflected when comparing Bayern’s 2.65 xG (expected goals) to Inter’s 0.91 xG.
Joshua Kimmich is among those who believe Bayern were hard done by in the 2-1 loss and think his side did not deserve to come away with a loss.
“It certainly wasn’t our best performance of the season, but it wasn’t a deserved defeat either. The result isn’t great for us. But we all feel that something is still possible.” Kimmich told Sky Sport’s Kerry Hau (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
While the result is certainly disappointing, Vincent Kompany’s side still has everything to play for.
