On a truly memorable Champions League night for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, the Gunners duo have praised the fans for the electric atmosphere at the N5.

From the amazing rendition of ‘North London Forever’ up to the final whistle, it was clear the Arsenal faithful took on the role of being the twelfth man against Real Madrid, on what many described as Mikel Arteta’s biggest game of his career so far.

Having taken a shock 3-0 lead in the Champions League tie, fan favourite Bukayo Saka and emerging centre forward Mikel Merino have shared their appreciation on social media.

Saka showed exactly why Arteta would have been so desperate for the return of the England international, causing problems out wide along with Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli.

Saka believes the fans played their part and more in his Instagram post captioned: “We asked and you gave us everything, thank you!”

Goal scorer Merino also had his say on Instagram: “N5 was rocking tonight!! Magic Champions League night at The Emirates. Job’s not finished. We keep going!”

Arsenal fans make Tottenham dig during Madrid win

After a result few would have expected, simply could not resist a dig at North London Rivals Tottenham.

Following the 3rd, and what appears to be the goal to really tilt the tie in Arsenal’s favour, Gunners fans were quick to serenade the Real Madrid supporters, chanting ‘Are you Tottenham in disguise’.

The Emirates atmosphere has often come under scrutiny, but it is safe to say the gunners brought their singing voices to play their part in a magical night in North London.
