Though playing away at Milan is difficult, the team hopes to clinch their chances in the second leg away.
Bayern Munich went into the quarter finals of the Champions League to face Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena after a satisfactory run. However, the team’s capacity to push themselves through the forthcoming stages of the competition was questioned, as they lost 2-1 to the Nerazzuri.
Following the game, manager Vincent Kompany expressed his disappointment (via @iMiaSanMia). He stated that he felt the team had the chance to score a lot more. “I thought we had chances to score more than one goal today. 2, 3 or even more. We were brave, it’s a pity we conceded a second goal towards the end,” he lamented.
However, he speaks for the team and asserts that he remains hopeful. Though playing away at Milan is difficult, the team hopes to clinch their chances in the second leg away fixture. “Our feeling today is that we’ll get our chances there. The result is what it is. Nobody in the dressing room is saying let’s just go home; we believe in our chances,” he declared.
For now, the team must shift their attention to Der Klassiker, as they face Borussia Dortmund at home. “Then from Sunday the focus will only be on Inter,” he said.
