The Portuguese international praised his fellow midfielder and emphasized that he deserves all the praise.

João Palhinha has not had the easiest time in Bayern Munich. Injury has constantly sidelined the midfielder, with the most instance being a muscle tear. Palhinha finally returned in mid-January, and has started featuring in games since then, though rarely for the entire 90.

Loen Goretzka is one such player who has faced multiple injuries throughout his Bayern career. Yet, at every instance, Goretzka has bounced back and made his way back into the starting XI in his usual midfield pivot position. Even after a stream of poor performances, the German international somehow always staged a comeback and proved his merit.

When asked on whether Goretzka can be a role model for him, in terms of how he turned his situation around Palhinha agrees that he can. Further citing their professional relationship and Goretzka’s comeback, the Portuguese international praised his fellow midfielder and emphasized that he deserves all the praise.

“Yes, he can be a role model. We get along well. He deserves it, and he deserves praise,” he said, per @iMiaSanMia.

Palhinha strongly believes in earning his spot by showing his skill in training. “The coach has shown that you can recommend yourself in training. That’s what I’m focusing on,” he declared.

Will he be successful in proving his mettle?
