TBR Football understands that Ajax defender Jorrel Hato is expected to move to the Premier League this summer with Arsenal and Liverpool both keen on him.
Hato is one of the top young players in world football and has several major Premier League clubs on his trail ahead of the summer transfer window.
Arsenal remain really keen on Hato despite the signing of Riccardo Calafiori and the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly at left-back.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Hato this season and the two clubs could battle it out for the Dutch defender’ in the summer’s signature.
Arsenal and Liverpool target Jorrel Hato expected to move to England
Arsenal have been doing work on Jorrel Hato since he was 16 years old, and this summer he is expected to move to England, according to Graeme Bailey – TBR Football chief correspondent.
The Gunners could lose two left-backs in June with Kieran Tierney’s contract up and the North London club ready to listen to offers for Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Liverpool are also in the picture for the young defender with Kostas Tsimikas looking set to leave the club in the summer.
Speaking to TBR Football, Bailey said: “Zinchenko will be allowed to leave, although that will be easier said that done considering his wages and Tierney is going.
“Jorrel Hato is still a player they love – they’ve done all the work on him for years – they’ve been following him since he was 16. Liverpool like him as well. It wouldn’t surprise me if Hato came to England this year.”
The Gunners remain well stocked at left-back with Calafiori and Lewis-Skelly, however, a move for Hato, who’s been valued at £40m, has not been ruled out.
“There still seems there’s still a place for Hato at Arsenal, despite Riccardo Calafiori arriving last summer. I wouldn’t rule Hato out of the equation,” added Bailey.
Jorrel Hato could fill two roles for Arsenal or Liverpool
This season, Hato has transitioned into a left-back having spent most of the last campaign playing in central defence.

Despite only being 19, the defender has already played 105 matches for Ajax and has shown great versatility moving from centre-back to left-back.
Liverpool have been looking for a left-footed defender and the teenager could offer them cover in both central defence and at left-back.
