Many nervous Arsenal fans – and hopeful Real Madrid supporters – have been asking Google the same question after a UEFA Champions League thriller on Tuesday night.

Arsenal have not conceded three goals in one game in over a yearHave Real Madrid ever beaten Arsenal?

A remarkable performance from Declan Rice – which saw the England international twice beat Thibaut Courtois with a freekick – and a wonderful curled finish by Mikel Merino has put Arsenal in the driving seat ahead of the second leg inside the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday.

Real Madrid need to score at least three goals without reply just to even up the scoreline.

As a result, many have been asking Google to reveal the last time the Gunners actually conceded three in one game – and the answer will make Arsenal fans even more confident.

Arsenal have not conceded three goals in one game in over a year

In what is quite an impressive statistic, the north Londoners have not conceded three goals in a single game since December 2023 – which bizarrely happened against Luton Town.

The Hatters – who now sit 23rd in the Championship and at risk of dropping into League One – incredibly scored three goals within 57 minutes during a Premier League clash at Kenilworth Road, as Gabriel Osho, Elijah Adebayo and Ross Barkley found the net.

However, Rice – who has blown Thierry Henry away – responded with a header in the 97th minute to snatch a 4-3 win and all three points, sparing Arsenal’s blushes on a day where they displayed unusually weak defending.

Interestingly, David Raya was in goal that day, while Gabriel Magalhaes, William Saliba, Ben White and Jakub Kiwior made up the back four – which is close to Arteta’s strongest defence – making that day at Kenilworth Road all the more strange.

Have Real Madrid ever beaten Arsenal?

Another trending question asks whether Real Madrid have ever actually won a game against Arsenal.

For all their success – which includes a record 15 UEFA Champions League titles – the Spanish giants have not tasted victory against the Gunners in three attempts.

  • Real Madrid 0-1 Arsenal (2005/06)
  • Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid (2005/06)
  • Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid (2024/25)

Real Madrid have also never come back from three goals down in a UEFA Champions League knockout match, so all signs are pointing towards Arsenal reaching the last four.

However, Real Madrid have scored four goals in a game on eight occasions at the Santiago Bernabeu this season alone, so anything is possible.
