Atletico Madrid fans have a clear message for their club after learning how much Tottenham are willing to sell Cristian Romero for this summer.

Romero is being strongly linked with a move to Ateltico Madrid as the defender is keen to experience a new challenge following a poor season in North London.

Tottenham have struggled to tie Romero down to a new contract and therefore, the defender’s time at the club looks to be drawing to a close.

Tottenham Hotspur have set their new price tag on Romero and the fans from the Spanish giants have been reacting.

How much do Tottenham want for Cristian Romero?

Tottenham are willing to sell Cristian Romero for around £34/42 million this summer, according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Burgos.

The North London club are now ready to sell the Argentine defender due to issues in regards to his future and his time in North London appears to be up.

TBR Football revealed last month that Romero told his camp he wants to join Atletico Madrid and talks over a new contract with Spurs have been put on ice.

Tottenham were ready to make Romero their highest-earner, however, the defender now seems intent on leaving the football club in the summer.

Spurs’ list of transfer targets includes Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diamonde, who is valued at £50 million. Meanwhile, Edmond Tapsoba is another target for Tottenham.

What Atletico Madrid fans are saying about Tottenham’s Cristian Romero price tag

Atletico Madrid fans believe that Tottenham’s £34/42 million asking price for Romero makes a deal a no-brainer for the summer transfer window.

Diego Simeone has made the 26-year-old one of his top summer targets with the Spanish club looking to sign a central defender this summer.

After learning Spurs’ Romero price tag, Atletico Madrid supporters took to X to share their feelings about a deal for the World Cup winner.

The tweet from the supporter above reads: “WHAT ARE WE DOING?? SEND THE MONEY RIGHT NOW!”

Elsehwere another Atleti supporter stated: “Damn, for that price, it’s not that it’s mandatory, but if he’s not here by July 1, we’re incompetent.”

There were yet more calls for the Spanish club to get a deal lined up: “For that price, it should be done already, not bad at all.”

Finally, another Ateltico fan said: “They won’t even be able to set foot in Europe. They have less income, a player who won’t be paid much and is angry with the club, and the possibility of a transfer request. They’re not in a position to demand anything.”
