One of the bright spots in 2025 for Bayern Munich so far has been the play of goalkeeper Jonas Urbig.
The young goalkeeper has made a strong impression on head coach Vincent Kompany.
“He is very calm and was very good in training. In big games, the experienced players are important and have to take responsibility. Everyone in the team has done their part,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
As for his teammates, midfielder Leon Goretzka is among those who have been impressed — at his play and his physique.
“He looks good in the kit. I haven’t come across him much in the gym, but that’s because I’ve not been in there much. He looks to be very clear in how he plays and has made a good impression. He handled a tough situation well in the first leg. We trust him and will keep helping him,” said Goretzka (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Manuel Neuer is expected back soon, but for the first time in quite a while, there is some confidence that Bayern Munich has found its successor to the G.O.A.T.
