Hansi Flick’s side were held to a 1-1 draw by Real Betis in Spain’s top flight last weekend, but they are now four points clear of second-placed Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table.

The Catalan outfit will also enter the match off the back of a huge result in the Champions League, beating Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in the first leg of their quarter-final on Wednesday night.

As for Leganes, the visitors ended a three-game losing run last time out when they drew 1-1 at home to Osasuna.

Borja Jimenez‘s side are currently battling for their lives towards the bottom of the division, picking up only 28 points from their 30 matches, which has left them in 18th, two points behind 17th-placed Alaves.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the head-to-head record and past meetings between the two sides ahead of their contest at Estadio Municipal de Butarque on Saturday evening.

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 10
Barcelona wins: 8
Draws: 0
Leganes wins: 2

Barcelona and Leganes have only met on 10 occasions throughout history, and the Catalan giants unsurprisingly have enjoyed a lot of success in this fixture, winning eight times, with Leganes overcoming Blaugrana twice.

The first-ever meeting between the two sides occurred in September 2016, with Barcelona winning 5-1.

Leganes’ first victory over Barcelona came on home soil in September 2018, with Nabil El Zhar and Oscar Rodriguez on the scoresheet for Mauricio Pellegrino‘s side, while Philippe Coutinho netted for the visitors.

El Lega then recorded a stunning 1-0 victory over Barcelona at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in December 2024, with that win proving to be their first-ever away success against the Catalan side.

Barcelona have scored 26 times in their 10 games against Leganes, conceding eight, while Lionel Messi is the all-time leading goalscorer in this fixture, managing 11 goals during his time with the 27-time La Liga champions.

However, the Catalan team have only kept a clean sheet in three of their previous 10 games against Leganes.
