Getafe finished 12th in Spain’s top flight last season, but they are in a strong spot when it comes to improving on that spot this term, with the capital outfit currently 11th, only two points behind Real Sociedad in eighth.

Jose Bordalas‘ side will enter this match in excellent form, winning three of their last four in Spain’s top flight, including a 4-0 success away to basement side Real Valladolid last time out.

Getafe strong season has been built on an impressive defensive record, having conceded just 25 times in their 30 matches, which is the second-best record in the division behind Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao (both 24).

The Deep Blue Ones have only won four of their 15 home league matches this season, with the team proving to be the draw specialists in front of their own fans, sharing the points on seven occasions.

Las Palmas have 12 points to show from their 15 away league matches this season, meanwhile, and Getafe are looking to complete a league double over their opponents this weekend, having triumphed 2-1 in the reverse game back in January.

Las Palmas’ last win over Getafe was a 2-0 home success in December 2023, but they have only been victorious in one of their last five matches against the capital outfit.

The visitors will enter this match off the back of a 3-1 home defeat to Real Sociedad, with that result following back-to-back draws against Alaves and Celta Vigo, with wins proving to be a real issue in recent weeks.

Indeed, Diego Martinez‘s side have not triumphed in Spain’s top flight since before the winter break, with their last success coming at home to Espanyol on December 22.

Las Palmas are currently 19th in the La Liga table, boasting a record of six wins, eight draws and 16 defeats from their 30 matches to collect 26 points, which has left them four points off Alaves in 17th.

Pio Pio have struggled defensively during the 2024-25 campaign, conceding 51 times in their 30 matches, which is the second-worst record in the division behind Real Valladolid, who have let in 69 goals.

Team News

Getafe had a fully-fit squad against Real Valladolid last time out, and no fresh issues have been reported since, so head coach Bordalas is again expected to be able to call upon the same group of players.

Borja Mayoral and Coba will be among those in the manager’s thinking when it comes to potential changes, but due to the impressive nature of the performance last time out, it could be a case of same again.

As a result, Juanmi is likely to be given the nod at centre-forward, with Juan Bernat playing further forward down the left.

Las Palmas, meanwhile, will once again be without the services of Benito Ramirez, Jasper Cillessen and Kirian Rodriguez, but the strugglers have not reported any further concerns.

Oli McBurnie finally got off the mark in La Liga against Real Sociedad, and he is expected to continue in the final third of the field on Saturday alongside on-loan Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva.

Sandro Ramirez has been another standout performer this season, with the ex-Barcelona youngster managing eight league goals this season, and the 29-year-old will also be in the XI this weekend.

Getafe possible starting lineup:
Soria; Iglesias, Duarte, Alderete, Rico; Arambarri, Milla; Terrats, Uche, Bernat; Juanmi

Las Palmas possible starting lineup:
Horkas; Rozada, Herzog, McKenna, Marmol; Sandro, Essugo, Munoz, Moleiro; McBurnie, F Silva

We say: Getafe 2-1 Las Palmas

Las Palmas are an incredibly difficult team to back at the moment; it would not be a surprise to see the points shared on Saturday, but we just have a feeling that an in-form Getafe will be able to navigate their way to all three points.
