The Englishman has his eyes on the prize, literally
Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane has been the butt of many jokes in his career, almost all of them, if not all, are targeted at his lack of trophies. Transferring out of Tottenham Hotspurs, a club with a notoriously empty trophy cabinet, Kane has been under a ton of pressure to win a team trophy.
However, Kane has never had an issue with winning trophies, just not team cups. In an interview with goal (captured by @iMiaSanMia), Kane touched upon his hunt for more team cups:
“I’ve won a lot of individual accolades, trophies and awards – Golden Shoe last year, all-time top goal scorer for England and Tottenham Hotspur, and top goal scorer of the Bundesliga last season. All these things that as a striker, of course, I’m incredibly proud of because it means that I am doing really well at my job. For me, I want to win as many team trophies as I can. We’re at a good place in the Bundesliga and have two tough games coming up in the Champions League. With the final for that tournament being in Munich, we have an opportunity to do something special.”
Kane’s ambitions are pretty reasonable, considering Bayern’s position this season both domestically and in Europe, but fans are questioning the “Kane Curse” after Bayern crashed out of the DFB-Pokal. Either way, they will have plenty of respect for Kane; he’s achieved individual glory in his time in Germany, but now he’s chasing history with Bayern Munich.
