It’s time to pick up the pieces…

Injured Bayern Munich star Dayot Upamecano is starting his rehab after knee surgery at Säbener Straße per FCBayern.com:

There was good news from Säbener Straße on Wednesday morning as Dayot Upamecano did laps of the training ground for the first time since his injury. The 26-year-old defender has been sidelined since the discovery of loose tissue in his left knee at the end of March. The France international has now taken the first step towards a return to action.

Dayot Upamecano made a quick return to the pitch today. The Frenchman had undergone an operation to smooth the cartilage – surgical scars don’t require a long healing time, so Upamecano was able to return to the pitch quickly. Nevertheless, it remains to be seen how his knee reacts to the workload. The exact duration of his absence will depend on that. Upamecano told the reporters after last night’s game: “I’m fine. I’ll be back,” [@BILD via @iMiaSanMia]

Pavlović ready for BVB

Per kicker (as captured by @iMiaSanMia), midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović will be back in time to face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday and Inter Milan next week:

Aleksandar Pavlović is expected back in the squad against Dortmund on Saturday. Manuel Neuer remains a doubt for Dortmund and Inter.
